MISSION STATEMENT

VISION:

The Vision for Olive Elementary is for "Olive Us" to obtain the 8 Keys of Success: Integrity, "Failure Leads to Success", 

"Speak With Good Purpose", "This is It!", "Commitment", "Ownership", "Flexibility" and "Balance".

MISSION:

The purpose of Olive Elementary is to inspire students to live up to their potential by working hard, setting goals, 

and being community leaders who are successful in their college and career choices.

VALUES:

Support--Creating grade level and vertical articulation partnerships.

Collaboration--Building relationships among home, school, and the community.

Communication--Having two-way dialogue that is respectful and consistent.

“OLIVE US” Celebrate Read Across America Week!

(Monday, March 2nd - Friday, March 6th 2015)

Tuesday, March 3rd: "Green Eggs and Ham" Day. Wear GREEN

Wednesday, March 4th: “Wacky Wednesday” Day. Dress with WACKY hair or clothes to school.

Thursday, March 5th: “Fox in Socks” Day. Wear silly SOCKS to school.

Friday, March 6th: “Cat In The Hat “ Day. Wear RED and/or your Dr. Seuss Hat to school.

Please join us for “Family Reading On the Lawn Day” on Friday, March 6th on the Olive Elementary School grass field. Come help us celebrate Read Across America Week! All family members are welcome to join us as we celebrate the joy of literacy! You may bring a book and /or a lunch to share with your child. Olive students will be provided with a sack lunch from the cafeteria. Please check in at the OLIVE/ VIDA font office to get a visitor’s pass.

Our Reading on the Lawn will begin at the following times:

11:00 - Kindergarten

11:15 - First Grade

11:25 - Second grade

11:35 – Third grade

11:45 – Fourth grade

11:55 – Fifth grade

We hope to see you on Friday, March 6th!

Olive Falcons are Ready to Learn at 7:45 a.m.

School Attendance Matters!

Each month the classroom with the highest attendance rate for the previous month wins a chance at extra recess. Winning classrooms are honored each month and have the privilege of displaying a special green "Attendance Winner" banner on the classroom door.

ATTENTION “OLIVE US”: Help Us Build The OLIVE GARDEN!

Calling all volunteers! Olive Elementary School is having another Garden Beautification Days to help create a wonderful new “Olive Garden” on our campus.
 
Saturday, March 14th from 9:00am-1:00pm on the Olive Elementary School grass field where we will work together to create a beautiful outdoor garden and learning area for our Olive Falcons!

All family members are welcome to attend! Snacks will be provided. Please bring any gardening gloves or tools you may have. Together OLIVE US can do anything! We hope to see you there!
